Jawline slimming (or square jaw reduction) is a quick but highly-effective procedure.

We can create a slimmer, more feminine-shaped jawline by injecting botulinum toxin into the masseter muscles.

Over time, the masseter muscles will slim down. The patient's face will change from a more masculine square shape to a more feminine heart shape.

This treatment is suitable for anyone who wants to slim down the lower third of their face, those who want a more contoured look, or those who have a face that they feel is too square or round.

Your appointment will start with a full-face consultation with your treating Practitioner. The Practitioner will ask you to chew so they can feel the outline of the masseter muscle. They will mark the injection points with a soft skin pencil and then place several small and relatively painless injections into each masseter muscle.

We use appropriate quantities of botulinum toxin to weaken rather than freeze the muscle groups. By using the correct dosage, your masseter muscles will retain movement.

Please note that we will tailor your injections to actual areas of concern through consultation with you. We do not use a one size fits all approach towards treatment.

This treatment is provided separately from our full-face, tailored anti-wrinkle injections.

The Forehead - To Treat, or Not To Treat?

For most women, treatment of the forehead can prevent the compensatory eyebrow raise, which gives a more feminine appearance. Treating the forehead will often lead to a more masculine appearance. It can even result in the look of heavier brows and eyelids.

We appreciate that you may have had your forehead treated in the past and may like to continue treating the forehead. We will discuss this area of concern with you and tailor your treatment to suit your desired results. For example, you could consider a lower dose via ultra-targeted microinjections, or we may recommend not treating the forehead at all.

We will offer our expert opinion, but the decision to treat or not will be yours to make.

Is a consultation required?

We do not require you to attend a face-to-face consultation for Jawline Slimming injections. Instead, we will ask that you send specific photos of your face. Our expert trainers will assess your photos and give us the go-ahead to discuss and book you in for treatments they deem beneficial.

If you prefer, you can attend a face-to-face consultation at our Harley Street clinic.

A thorough discussion with our trainers and the delegate carrying out the treatment will take place on the day of your appointment. If you have not had a Jawline Slimming treatment in the past, we recommend you attend a face-to-face consultation at our Harley Street clinic.

If you have had the treatment before, you will likely not need a face-to-face consultation.

You must understand what the treatment entails before booking. No refunds can be issued should you decide not to go ahead with treatment on the day of your appointment.

Botox injections are a temporary solution for relaxing the masseter muscles. Treatment results typically last 3-4 months, depending on how quickly your body naturally expels it from your system.

Both women and men tend to feel reassured that results are temporary – if you don't love it, you don't have to live with it forever.

Please avoid using aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen), St. John's wort or high doses of vitamin E supplements. These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

Avoid drinking caffeinated drinks such as tea or coffee for 24 hours. Caffeine may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

Talk with your GP if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores. They may prescribe a medication to minimise recurrence.

The effects of a botulinum toxin treatment will reach their maximum at about two weeks following treatment. Unfortunately, we are unable to assess your results until this point.

We do not schedule botulinum toxin review appointments as standard, as most training models do not need one. It is, however, essential that you understand that there is no ''standard dose'' for treatment. Instead, a personal treatment plan is reached by assessing your face, the position of your facial muscles, and how your muscles move.

There may still be some undesired movement, lines or asymmetry that needs to be corrected, especially if this was your first visit to us. If so, we can schedule a complimentary review appointment to achieve the best possible correction to the treated areas.
